Kids Deck Party!

Matthew and Julia love having playdates with their friends. Whether their friends come to our house and their parents choose to hang out with us or we take them to their friends house for a few hours- its definitely cool to have playdates. I remember having my girlfriends over to my house all the time when I was younger, doing our hair, dressing up, hanging out, watching movies and eating pizza.
Our house has become the hang –out spot for Matthew and his friends and just recently he had a “deck party” where he had a few friends over to hang out, eat and play. Julia brought her itunes music player out and they danced, sang, played Beyblades, kickball and Julia played with her hula hoop! Long gone are the days that Dave and I used to go to parties with other adults. It has now changed to parties for kids. We have swapped the alcoholic beverages with juice boxes and grilled filet mignons with kid friendly hot dogs and chicken. We are glad that the kids enjoy doing this and happy that our house is so open and welcoming to their friends. We hope that the kids will always want to have their friends over to the house, feel that we are "cool" enough to hang with them when they get older, and ofcourse always count on us for not just parties but for anything they would ever need and for someone to talk to.
