Opening Day- Lttle League

South Maryland Little League did it right.  We had no idea what to expect on Matthew's very first Opening Day for his first season of baseball.  The yonger teams of T- Ball and Coach Pitch arrived first.  Each team got together and lined up.  The parade of teams began with people cheering their kids, nephews, neices and grandbabies and coaches on.  Each team carried a banner, music was jamming through the loud speakers.  Then the announcer introduced each team, coach and player and this was Matthew's opportunity to step forward and tip his hat as we proudly cheered him on.  They also did a blessing of the field, little league pledge and the national anthem.  A small game was played, pictures were taken and did I mention that there was FOOD?!  It was a wonderful day to meet new friends and there were so many excited and happy kids.   Once the little kids were done their events, the big kids were taking the field for their Oepning Day.  Great job South Maryland Little League!
