Spring soccer season has come to an end and although I am sad that its over, but I now get two have my Tuesday & Thursday evening free again to do some much needed packing, cleaning and organzing at home. This past Saturday (05/21/11) Matthew & Julia took part in the soccer tournaments and even though it was a long day on the field, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The field was packed with kids playing their soccer tournaments, large inflatable moonbounces for the kids to jump on in the middle of their games, plenty of smoked pit-beef, rita's italian ice and a pizza party for all kids, parents and family members! The best part of the day was when they received their trophies. They were so happy, excited and proud of themselevs. What a great soccer season and I look forward to so many more sports, games and activities that the kids will be taking part in!

Julia trying to kick the ball between Dave's legs to score a goal! I bet that Major League Soccer has never seen that move before!

Kick it Julia! There is no one else trying to get the ball! Run!

Hustle Matthew! Get in the game and steal that ball!

Hmmm... 2 blue soccer players against 4 gray soccer players.

Doesn't seem fiar but I know we can do it!

YUM! We need to refuel with pizza & water!

Julia's very first soccer trophy!

Coach Gretchen and Matthew with his trophy!

What's in a box?

Do you remember the days when you could spend hours playing in a huge box from your parents? Pretending that it was a secret house to hide in? Or maybe use it to hide and store your most precious toys? Lemonaide stand anyone? The fun of a good ol' card-board box! My mom just recently purchased a new lawn-mower and the imaginative ways children use boxes blows my mind! This huge cardboard box provided them with hours of fun, fighting and climbing until the box was defeated and we had to throw it out.

Alex, Daniel & Matthew playing with G.I.Joe figures in the box!

Sweet girly-girls! Julia & Amaya relaxing in the box once the boys finally gave them a turn to play in it.

Hmmm. Not sure whats happening here. The boys are out of control and are CLIMBING ontop of the box! I think this was it for that poor box.

Starting Summer Fun Early!

It may look like it is a hot August Day in Baltimore County...it's a Sunday in May and the temperature is close to 70 degrees!

It may look like there were no adults in this picture supervising the activities...Lola was the supervising adult!

...means waking up in the middle of the night when the little ones are scared= no sleep

...means kissing cuts, scrapes, boo-boos= hoping that there is no infection and that I cleaned it the right way

...means always having the answers for difficult questions like "why is there a sky"= you have you be quick when finding answers that make the most sense even though you don't know if it is correct

...means teaching what is right/wrong, teaching manners, teaching them about the world and life= I just hope I teach them these things correctly to help them as they grow up

....means I get hugs, kisses, cries, attitudes, talking back= do they learn the attitude and talking back from me?

I get to be my childrens' doctor, therapist, friend, foe and many times I am the bad mom because I will not allow them to watch a specific show, have a certain toy or am always telling them "NO!" I just hope that I am the best mom I can be, help open doors to every possible opportunity for them, help them make choices and support them even though I don't agree with the choices and decisions they make and just be there for them for anything. I hope to be like my mom who is incredibly wise, I hope to have her inner strength, faith and have a heart like hers that overflows with love and care.

For Sale!

You heard it right! We have put our townhouse on the market! We have been in this wonderful home for 11 years and have been working so hard to be able to do this. I continue to have mixed emotions about putting our house on the market, because there are so many wonderful memories here. This was our first house together, the house that we started our family in. I am going to miss everything about this house- because David and I did so much to make this house a home. Our house has so much warmth, love and happiness in it. But as David has told me countless times...it's not the house but it's the love and happiness that we have created and shared that fills the house. This is certainly a tough market to sell a house in, but whether it takes 1 month, 6 months or 1 year, we are taking this leap as a family and we are all very excited.

The kids still don't understand how the process works as they continue to pick and choose the toys they are bringing and the ones they are leaving for the new children who will live in our house!

Pass the word to friends and family who may be interested in living in Odenton. I just LOVE this house and I hope that it brings the next owners as much happiness and love as we have had in it. I am truly going to miss this house....
