1st Day of Kindergarten....

Posted by Mary Grace (MGD) on Friday, September 2, 2011.

September 1st was the very first official day of Kindergarten. Matthew has met his teacher and a few of his classmates during a “stagger” entrance where they have ½ the kindergartners come to school and go through the daily schedule. Matthew is so eager, excited and extremely happy about kindergarten. He is now a “school age” little boy. He attends Open Door in the morning before school opens where children can play board games, do arts & crafts, do projects, have breakfast and hang out with friends until it’s time for him to go to his classroom. He then spends the day with his teacher, Mrs. Bitner, friends, eats lunch in the cafeteria, has gym, music, art and media day.

He is very proud of himself. He makes friends so easily as I saw on his first day, he wants to learn, he is eager to have friends and meet his teachers. He still needs some encouragement, he still needs guidance and we will always be supportive of him. Although I am scared, nervous and a little sad about him growing up so fast, I continue to be so thankful for a wonderful, happy and healthy little boy who is amazing.
