Christmas season bring so many fun things from shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking and the best is the family fun.  I see our family regularly but holidays are so special for everyone and just seeing the kids little faces all excited, waiting for presents, waiting for Santa, eating all the cookies, chocolate- its just too much fun.  I love it each year and I can't wait until all the madness begins again!  Pictures below are in random order...

Automatic Toilets- MUST DIE

Seriously.  I'm done with them.  OVER with it already....go back to the regular style toilet flushers PLEASE.

Those who know Julia know that she is terrified of toilets that flush automatically.  I feared that she was the only child with this strange problem, however after much reading, googling and research it is a very common issue with children.  I don't know if she just doesn't like the toilet flushing when she is on it, I don't know if she thinks its going to swallow her up.  I don't know if she doesn't like the water hitting her bum when she is on it...I DON'T KNOW!

We have talked about it but she really won'y say why she is scared of them.  She has gotten belly aches from not going to the bathroom all day if we can't find an automatic potty. She even had a bladder infection because she went so long without going potty.

I have even tried to cover the stupid sensor with my hands and it dosn't work-- there must be toilets that sense any movement and it flushes by itself.

I have heard of parents using sticky notes to cover the sensor- but NOPE didn't work.  The girl is too smart for that. I tried the sticky note trick but she wouldn't have any of it at all.

So now-- she holds it as much as she can when we are out and I can't find a regular toilet.  If we go away, I actually call the hotels, restaurants and plan accordingly.  I memorize the stores that have regular toilets and I map it out in my head in the even there is ever a serious emergency.

I am a mommy on a mission- automatic sensored toilets MUST die!  (Picture below is from One Loco Mommy) - if you google "kids and automatic toilets" you will see that so many other parents share my frustrations!

Oh Christmas is right around the corner and this year I am a little behind.  Maybe its because Thanksgiving was the last week of November?  Oh I dunno- but my goodness its coming fast!  Good ol' Buddy made an appearance after Thanksgiving and the kids are super excited.  He has been hanging around the house- doin' who knows what.  I mean since he is sitting at home all day- he could wrap the presents?  He could make a nice dinner for us so I don't have to cook when I get home.  VFllors need to be done and there are lots of leaves that still need to be raked and bagged....

The kids found Buddy this morning on Julia's Puppy- "Pinkalicious"
I guess he was playing last night while we were sleeping!

Dave and I attended Julia very sweet Thanksgiving program at school.   She was chosen to be a Native American and I have to say-- she was very cute.  She looked more like Pocahontas though!  Many of you know that she can be extremely shy around large crowds and people she doesn't know yet-- tu she did great singing, dancing and even talked in the microphone.  She shared that she was "Thankful for Food..."  thats my girl!

Waiting to enter the program!

Where's Julia-- smack dab in the middle...can you see her?

Each year we carve pumpkins with the kids and this year we doubled it up with my birthday celebration. Everyone brought their own pumpkins for carving and boy did we have FUN!  My mom had never carved a pumpkin before and I think she really had fun!  From gooey hands, slimy fingers and lots of messes- it was total fun and can't wait to do it again next year.

This year we had a small Halloween Party at our house and we are so thankful our friends were able to share in the crazy fun!  Dave and I usually don't dress up to take the kids trick-or treating this year but since we were having a par-tay...why not!  Here are the costumes for this year!

The kids also had a parade at school so I took some snapshots of them as well.
